• On-site schedule duration is significantly reduced. The labor to stick frame walls is moved to an off-site shop fabrication location where it can be performed in advance of the time the product is needed on the job. This is the key selling point in my opinion. Every GC / CM / Owner wants to improve their schedule and have the building being used for its intended purpose sooner rather than later. In addition to transferring the labor off the critical path, shop prefab of wall panels greatly reduces the inevitable on-site weather delays as the work is done inside a shop and is unaffected by adverse weather.
• Labor performed off-site in a shop reduces the quantity of workers on site and the amount of time they are working. Besides the schedule advantages, this minimizes the risk for costly job related accidents, and OSHA / insurance involvements. Less men on site equates to less risk for the GC and Owner.
